IGeS World contributes in the fighting against poverty to relieve local political troubles with engineering projects in Afghanistan.
The Farah Rud Hydraulic Project in Afghanistan was boosted and IGeS World was committed by Hydroach of Rome to prepare the full detailed design. The Project consists of a gravity concrete dam of around 90 m height that will create a reservoir of 1.3 billion cubic meters (a 1.3 km side cube). The stored water will allow the production of 27 MW Hydroelectric Power and the irrigation of a command area of 1000 square Km that will transform a big extension of territory from desert to a gorgeous land of orchards and wheat fields. On October 15th our company delivered to the client the designs related to the Diversion Tunnel.
This project will help the Farah region to fight against poverty and to mild the local political troubles
Celebrating the first anniversary of IGeS World environmental contribution in Phnom Penh – Cambodia (Pphob)
On December 2012, IGeS, through its Cambodian and SE Asian Branch – IGeS Cambodia – was committed the turnkey project “A Geothermal Powered Air Conditioning System”. The installation was experimental in the country but investors were concern about renewable energies. The target was the new hospital building in downtown Phnom Penh with an overall surface of approximately 1400 m2 (six floors from a 13 floor building). The well park contained a total number of 17 underground sources of variable length between 60 and 98 meters.
The Hospital was opened on October 2016 and a year later, “The Geothermal Powered Air Conditioning System”, one of the first of this type in Cambodia and perhaps in Indochina, works efficiently; provides fresh dehumidified air to the main medical offices and laboratories and hot water to the hospital, saves many kg of Co2 production and protects the environment in such a beautiful country
Economic boosting by improving communication axis for commerce in Africa – Ethiopia (Girn)
IGeS has been invited to support Lotti Engineering department on the design of a Primary Road Infrastructure linking the city of Djibouti, Djibouti with the Ethiopian border. The significance of this communication axis is strictly related to the heavy commercial traffic that is moved along this road in a country like Ethiopia which boosts his economic growth with commerce and is a landlocked country in the African continental
Adopting naturalistic engineering techniques to minimize the architectonic and environmental impact the island of Sardinia – Italy (Oroa)
The stabilization works on the eastern side of the Orosei Old Center Hill are over after two years of intense labor. In the fall of 2009, due to heavy rainfalls in the area, a huge landslide involved the residence home standing at the bottom of the hill (or down the hill). IGeS was appointed to design and supervise the use of Naturalistic Engineering techniques that were adopted in order to minimize the architectonic and environmental impact of the works.
Our expertise revitalizes key infrastructure in Southern Italy (Aqlr)
In recent times, Italy has filled the rail infrastructure gap in Europe by developing the linkage system for High-speed Trains that move around the south area of the country, and many important structures of the historic lines connecting the central area of Italy with Calabria are suffering from lack of maintenance and natural deterioration due to age.
IGeS has been called to give specialized consultancy services and support to solve the issues affecting the railways infrastructures in Southern Italy – Calabria and Campania regions.
Concretely, IGeS is providing its technical expertise in the Design for interventions aimed to revitalize the tunnels, embankments and underpass as well as to eliminate level crossing
